What you'll find up there

The park sits in a patch of forest at the Lac Blanc resort, within the commune of Orbey, about twenty minutes' drive from the gite. Ten courses of increasing difficulty are built into the firs, and two of them are reserved for ages 3 to 6: eighteen low-level obstacles on a continuous lifeline, where the child never has to handle a carabiner. Above that, the Pack Exploration opens four courses of your choice from age 6 and 1.25 m, the Pack Challenge five courses from age 9 and 1.35 m, up to the black course more than ten metres off the ground. You don't book a specific course: your height and age decide what is open to you, and you pick from that. Gear is provided and an instructor briefs you before you set off. The barefoot trail and the paintball area share the same site if you want to fill the day.

Les deux parcours Ourson

0.90 m to 1.30 m · 1h30 · 18 obstacles

The two "first steps" bear cub courses, built for the youngest. Children move along a continuous lifeline: no carabiner to unclip, so they can just enjoy the climb. Unlimited runs within the time slot.

Le hérisson

The hedgehog. Suspended bridges, swings and zip lines, for a first walk through the branches.

The woodpecker, the second green course, with slightly more committing obstacles than the hedgehog.

La belette

The weasel. Rope ladders and suspended walkways to test your balance, then your first zip line.

Le renard

The fox, and bolder obstacles: a Himalayan bridge, trapezes, vines and walkways.

La martre

The marten, the park's latest build. A physical challenge with obstacles you won't find elsewhere on the site.

Le tétras

Up to 8 m high

The grouse. Walkways, long zip lines and suspended nets. It asks for nerve and persistence.

Le chamois

The chamois. A hanging trunk to climb, plenty of zip lines over the forest, and a Tarzan swing to finish.

Over 10 m high

The black course. Difficulty builds obstacle after obstacle, the moves turn very technical, and you exit on the longest zip line on the site.

Safety rules

•House rules are posted at the entrance and set the conditions of access to the park.
•Ourson course: from 3 years old and 0.90 m minimum. An adult stays on the ground and does not climb.
•Ages 6 to 16: an adult must be present on the ground. They may climb with the child if they wish.
•One adult supervises three children maximum, eight for organised groups (clubs, holiday centres, summer camps).
•Minimum height: 1.25 m for the Pack Exploration, 1.35 m and age 9 for the Pack Challenge.
•Closed sports or hiking shoes are compulsory, along with clothes you don't mind getting dirty.
•The park may stop the activity in bad weather.

Riding tips

•This is the outing that works with young children. From age 3 and 0.90 m, the Ourson course runs on a continuous lifeline: nothing to unclip, nothing to clip back on.
•An adult has to stay on the ground for the whole session, and on the Ourson course that adult does not climb. Count one adult per three children, so come as a pair if you have four.
•Set aside half a day: 1h30 on the Ourson course, 2h30 for the Pack Exploration, 3h30 for the Pack Challenge.
•In May, June and September the park only opens on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, from 1pm. In July and August it runs every day from 10am, between 4 July and 31 August.
•Last entry is 5pm on days that open at 10am, and 4pm on days that open at 1pm. Turning up an hour before closing gets you nowhere.
•Call before you drive up. The park strongly recommends booking by phone, and days that are not normally open between 4 May and 30 September can still open on request depending on numbers.
•The courses are built into the firs, so you climb in the shade. Bring one layer more than you would in the valley: you are above a thousand metres.
•No need to pack a picnic: the Blancrupt inn sits right next to the park, so you can eat without driving back down.
•If a younger sibling is too small to climb, the barefoot trail is on the same site: 1.2 km, 1h30 to 2h30, €6 for ages 3 to 16 and €7.50 for an adult. Doing both on the same day earns a reduced rate on the second. Dogs are not allowed there.
•Allow about twenty minutes' drive from the gite, climbing up towards the resort.
